AF1 Fan Zone: Power Rankings – Week 3

Top Tier Holds Firm While Mid-Season Movement Comes From Statement Wins

If there’s been one consistent theme through the AF1 season so far, it’s stability at the very top and volatility everywhere else.

The top three teams in the rankings have now held their positions all season long, forming a clear and consistent elite tier. But underneath that group, this week brought some of the biggest movement we’ve seen yet, driven almost entirely by statement performances.

Two teams in particular made the loudest moves: Minnesota and Beaumont, each climbing three spots after commanding wins last weekend.

The Top Tier: Stability at the Summit

One of the clearest takeaways from the season so far is that the top three, Albany, Nashville, and Kentucky, have been locked in place since the preseason.

Week after week, that trio has remained intact, signaling a real separation between the league’s elite and the rest of the field. While positioning between them has been debated at times, the overall structure has held firm.

At this point, the top three aren’t just leading the rankings. They’re defining them.

Where the Real Debate Happened

If the top and bottom were straightforward, the middle of the rankings was anything but.

  • Beaumont and Minnesota climb 3 spots to No. 5 and No. 4 respectively
  • Oceanside lands at No. 6 after sliding from the top half
  • Oregon and Michigan round out the crowded middle at No. 7 and No. 8

This is where the league feels the most unsettled, and just like in week 3, one strong win could completely reshape the order.

Key Takeaways from This Week’s Ballot

• Only 2 unanimous selections (Minnesota, Washington)
A rare level of disagreement across the board.

• Middle tier is wide open
No team from 5–8 has a firm hold on their position.

• Minnesota is breaking into the conversation
Unanimous No. 4 isn’t accidental. It is recognition.

Final Word

This week’s rankings didn’t deliver chaos at the top or bottom. Instead, they exposed something more interesting: uncertainty in the middle.

The elite tier is forming, the basement is defined, and everything in between is still up for grabs.

And right now in the AF1, that’s where the season is going to be decided.
