AF1 Fan Zone Message Board Guidelines

Welcome to the AF1 Fan Zone Message Board!

This community exists for fans of Arena Football One (AF1) to discuss the league, teams, players, coaches, news, rumors, and the future of arena football.

Being a fan does not mean agreeing with every decision. Passionate discussion, debate, opinions, and constructive criticism are encouraged. A strong fan community is built by people who care enough to celebrate the good and discuss the challenges.

The goal of this message board is simple: **support the growth of AF1 while providing a place for fans to have meaningful conversations about the sport they love.**

1. Keep Discussions AF1 Focused

The primary purpose of this message board is to discuss AF1-related topics, including teams, players, coaches, games, league news, and events.

Other indoor and arena football discussions are welcome in designated areas. Off-topic conversations should remain in the appropriate forums.

2. Debate Decisions, Not People

Fans are encouraged to discuss:
* Team performance
* Coaching decisions
* League policies
* Officiating
* Scheduling
* Marketing
* Business decisions

Criticism is welcome when it focuses on actions, decisions, and outcomes.

Personal attacks, harassment, insults, or targeting individuals are not permitted.

3. Rumors and Speculation

Rumors and speculation are part of sports discussion and are allowed.

However:
* Clearly identify rumors as rumors or speculation.
* Do not present unverified information as fact.
* Do not spread information intended to harm individuals, teams, or the league.

4. Constructive Criticism Is Welcome

AF1 Fan Zone is not a place where every opinion has to be positive.

Fans should be able to say:

* “This team needs better marketing.”
* “The league should improve its streaming experience.”
* “This rule change needs more discussion.”

Healthy criticism helps sports grow.

The difference is intent. The purpose should be to discuss problems and potential solutions, not simply tear down the sport.

5. Avoid Reactionary Negativity (“Scoreboard Watching”)

Every team, league, and sport experiences challenges, setbacks, and disappointing moments.

Fans are encouraged to discuss those moments, but the community should avoid “scoreboard watching” — only appearing after losses, controversies, or setbacks to declare the sport a failure or celebrate problems.

A bad game can be discussed. A disappointing decision can be debated. Challenges can be analyzed.

The goal is conversation and improvement, not constant negativity.

6. Respect Fellow Fans

Different opinions are what make sports communities interesting.

You do not have to agree with another fan, but you should respect their right to have a different perspective.

Personal arguments, trolling, and attempts to intentionally disrupt discussions are not allowed.

7. Keep Humor in the Right Place

Memes, jokes, and fun content are encouraged in designated areas.

Humor is part of sports culture, but it should not become a way to attack players, teams, fans, or the sport itself.

8. No Defamatory or Harmful Content

Do not post accusations of serious wrongdoing without credible public information.

Content that could unfairly damage the reputation of individuals, teams, sponsors, or the league may be removed.

9. Help Build the Community

The best sports communities are made by fans who care.

Celebrate the wins. Discuss the losses. Share ideas. Welcome new fans.

AF1 Fan Zone is a place to talk about arena football, support the sport, and help grow the community.

Moderator Guidelines

Moderators reserve the right to edit, move, or remove content that violates these guidelines or the overall spirit of the community.

The goal is not to silence opinions. The goal is to maintain a place where fans can have passionate, respectful, and meaningful discussions.

Passion is welcome. Criticism is welcome. Destructive negativity is not.
