The biggest game of the week delivered.
Nashville defeated Albany 57-54 in a thriller that lived up to its billing, securing the No. 1 seed in the AF1 playoffs.
The victory not only solidified Nashville’s position atop the rankings, it completed a remarkable turnaround from earlier in the season when Albany appeared untouchable. Since taking over the No. 1 ranking in Week 10, the Kats have done nothing but strengthen their claim as the league’s team to beat.
With the postseason approaching, the road to a championship now runs through Nashville.
Minnesota Continues Its Rise
The Minnesota Monsters continued their strong second-half surge with a 56-42 victory over Washington.
Minnesota has quietly become one of the hottest teams in the league, winning key games down the stretch and locking up the No. 3 seed heading into the final week of the regular season.
The Monsters remain comfortably ahead of Michigan in the rankings and continue to look like one of the league’s most dangerous postseason teams.
Michigan and Oceanside Rewrite the Record Book
If there was an award for most entertaining game of the week, it belonged to Michigan and Oceanside.
The Arsenal defeated the newly rebranded Oceanside Stealth 86-74 in a game that produced a league-record 160 combined points.
The previous AF1 record had stood for only three weeks, when Nashville and Albany combined for 147 points in their Week 11 showdown. Michigan and Oceanside shattered that mark by 13 points in the highest-scoring game of the season.
While the result ended in defeat, the Stealth’s debut showcased the explosive offense that has made Oceanside one of the league’s most dangerous teams. Michigan, meanwhile, continued to prove it can win shootouts against anyone in the AF1.
With the postseason approaching, the Arsenal appear to be finding their stride at exactly the right time.
Beaumont Climbs While Kentucky Continues to Slide
The only change in this week’s rankings came after Beaumont’s 50-20 victory over Kentucky.
For the second consecutive week, the Barrels struggled to find answers, while Beaumont delivered its most complete performance of the season.
The result was enough to move the Renegades ahead of Kentucky in the voting after the two teams finished tied in the rankings last week.
Kentucky remains the No. 4 seed in the playoffs, but their recent form has dramatically changed how voters view the team. Just a few weeks ago, the Barrels were battling for a spot in the league’s top three. Now they enter the postseason searching for momentum.
The Final Playoff Spot Remains Up for Grabs
While most of the playoff field has been decided, one significant question remains.
Nashville has clinched the No. 1 seed, Albany has secured No. 2, Minnesota is locked into No. 3, and Kentucky and Michigan will meet in the opening round regardless of next week’s results.
That leaves the final playoff berth.
Washington currently holds the inside track, but Beaumont can still claim the sixth and final postseason spot with a strong performance against Minnesota in Week 15.
