Objectively Subjective: Week 12 Power Rankings

by Alana Klein

In addition to contributing to our weekly consensus, I like to provide a brief rationale of why I voted the way that I did.

  1. Nashville Kats – (9-1) ↔
    • Nashville keeps churning out the Ws. They have to remain focused on Washington and not look down the road to the showdown in Albany.
  2. Albany Firebirds – (8-2) ↔
    • Beating Nashville will mean literally nothing in the standings if they slip-up in Beaumont this weekend.
  3. Minnesota Monsters – (5-4) ↔
    • Idle.
  4. Michigan Arsenal – (5-6) ↑1
    • I can’t help but wonder where they’d be if they were this dominant from Week 1.
  5. Kentucky Barrels – (7-3) ↓1
    • I’ve never been one to say that if a team is idle, they can’t be passed in the rankings.
  6. Washington Wolfpack – (5-5) ↔
    • Absolutely dominated by Michigan. They’ve gotta figure things out in a hurry as their positioning in the standings takes a huge hit.
  7. Beaumont Renegades – (3-6) ↔
    • Still mathematically alive for a playoff spot but that light is slowly fading.
  8. Oceanside Bombers – (1-9) ↔
    • Officially eliminated. A scrappy bunch but couldn’t piece it together to get the Ws.
  • Oregon Lightning – (1-8)
    • Deserves a shout-out because their commitment to the community appears to still be strong despite having to wrap up their season earlier than expected.

Playoff projection

  1. Nashville
  2. Albany
  3. Minnesota
  4. Kentucky
  5. Michigan
