Arena Football One reported significant growth in digital engagement following the opening week of its 2026 season, according to league data released Tuesday.
The league said it recorded sharp increases across multiple platforms in a year-over-year comparison with Week 1 of the 2025 season, including an 1,800% rise in Instagram views and a 182% increase in Facebook interactions. AF1 also reported a 177% increase in Instagram followers over the same period.
YouTube consumption showed sustained gains. The league said it accumulated 5,605 watch hours by mid-April 2026, surpassing its full-year 2025 total of 2,176.5 hours by more than 150%.
Commissioner Jeff Fisher said the early-season metrics reflect a broader effort to expand the league’s digital reach.
“Obviously, we are very excited about the amazing early successes in our fan engagement as evidenced by these numbers,” Fisher said. “We have placed a determined effort to expand this reach on a variety of platforms and, so far, these numbers are indicative of our push. And we certainly have realistic expectations that these numbers will only continue to grow.”
Chief Executive Officer Jerry Kurz said the growth aligns with increased fan interest and the league’s content strategy.
“Seeing this level of growth in such a short period of time is a reflection of the passion and energy of our fan base,” Kurz said. “We don’t take that support for granted. Our focus every day is to listen, adapt, and deliver the kind of fast-paced, engaging content our fans want whether that’s on social media, streaming platforms, or in arenas.”
AF1 opened its 2026 season with eight of its nine teams in Week 1 competition. The league said it will continue to emphasize digital distribution and social media engagement as part of its broader growth strategy.
Games are available for streaming at the league’s website, with weekly matchups scheduled throughout the regular season.
